Schroeder is in Brasil
In Brazil, the sun is always shining and beautiful women are dancing samba or lolling on the beach. People live in slums and constantly rob tourists. Germany is full of rich people and neo nazis. The Germans work a lot, are punctual and never laugh.
These are the widespread clichés that Germans have in mind when they think of Brazilians, and vice versa. The reality is of course very different. Writer and filmmaker Zé do Rock sets off to test reciprocal biases in both countries. Interviews with Brazilians and Germans are supplemented by everyday pictures and small experiments - for example, to find out how long a bag in a bar can be left unguarded before someone takes it.
For 13 years he hitchhiked around the world and finally settled in Munich, where he started a career as a cabaret artist and author.
Zé do Rock received e.g. a grant from the City of Munich in 1996, 2001 the satire price »Pfefferbeißer« and the »Scholarship of the Märkischen Kulturkonferenz für Literatur«.
